Nicole Robichaux

PsyD, PMHNP-BC, APRN Tampa Location

Nicole brings a unique combination of expertise to her practice, as she is dually trained as a clinical psychologist and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. During her education, she matriculated through both professional programs concurrently, obtaining her Master of Psychology, then Doctor of Psychology degree from Baylor University in 2001 and 2003 respectively, and Master of Science in Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2004. She had previously earned her Bachelors of Nursing at Louisiana State University School of Nursing in 1993. Nicole currently holds both professional licenses in the state of Florida and has previously held licenses in the state of Louisiana. She is also board certified as a Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She completed her psychology internship at the James A Haley VAMC with an emphasis in health psychology/behavioral medicine and completed her nurse practitioner internship also at the James A Haley VAMC in in-patient psychiatry.

Nicole began her career as a cardiac ICU nurse, later changing to psychiatric nursing. When she decided to advance her education, she felt that combining the psychosocial/therapeutic and assessment expertise of a clinical psychologist along with the medical and psychopharmacological training of a psychiatric nurse practitioner would fill a unique niche in the field. She has since been very grateful for her dual training, as she feels it gives her a very broad and unique perspective when assisting clients. She has experience working with both children and adults, and currently provides psychiatric evaluations, brief therapy, and medication management services to adult population in collaboration with a board certified psychiatrist with an emphasis on PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders, and ADHD. She is a firm believer in the benefit of psychotherapy and other wrap around services, and has an extensive referral network with whom she collaborates.
